Welcome to the RUSHIN to Congress Website!
Thank you for visiting my website. I am challenging Republican Rep. Jo Ann Emerson for the Missouri 8th Congressional District.
As you work your way through my website you will see there are many considerations and philosophies that need to be in the dialogue of the National Electorate and the People of the Missouri 8th District.
There is still a concern for jobs. It is both ironic and sad that after the 2010 election when the Republicans repeated over and over again, Jobs, Jobs, Jobs and then when they get in office the first measure of national legislative business were social issues not JOBS! This is not my opinion, it is historical fact. In the first 200 days of Republican control of the House of Representatives–House Republicans passed 81 measures, none of which created jobs, and some that actually destroyed jobs. The GOP has instead focused on divisive bills and their budget to end Medicare, while providing tax breaks to big oil and companies that ship jobs overseas. Instead of Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, there was legislation proposed that related to Marriage, Protect Life Act and Online Piracy. Though these issues have importance they were not what the GOP ran on. I will continue to be focused on the jobs issue. It will be forefront and ahead of social issues.
Jack will use a Common Sense, Logical and Rational Approach when working in Congress:
This will include Fiscal Responsibility :
- I am committed to being a legislator that will be focused on fiscal responsibility. That does not say we should not spend, but spend wisely.
- I am committed to review spending bills to avoid needless waste of money and resources.
I believe that Smaller Government is not necessarily the proper vision for the "Greatest Nation in the World". Government needs to be productive and efficient. Small Government will not be effective if the New Madird fault creates catastrophic damage in the Heartland. Small Government will have difficulty answering needs in foreign conflicts or wars of the future. I believe a productive, efficent U.S. Government is possible and necessary.
We have had poor, poor productivity from our Congressional portion of the U.S. Government. It has been stagnant and in grid lock, Congress has not been doing the “People’s Work“ . When you have Republican Senators and Representatives who have made it their mission since Inauguration Day of the President to create as much obstruction as possible to make him look ineffective so as to limit him to one term; “That Is Not Putting America First” .
There are thousands of miles of roads, highways and interstates that need upgrade and repair. There are also thousands of bridges that are sub-grade that are in need of repair. The private sector will not take the lead to fix these necessary avenues of public travel and commerce this is the responsibility of a Government that will Govern. Taking the action to address these concerns will provide thousands and thousands of jobs. Remember; Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!
